History

At Pediatric Specialty Care, we have been successfully serving medically fragile children and their families for nearly 20 years.

Pediatric Specialty Care opened its doors to children almost 20 years ago.  In 1992, an enterprising and energized family saw the need to get children out of hospitals and into a more home-like and less restrictive setting.  This vision lead to the creation of Second Breath Cottage in Point Pleasant, PA.

In 2002, two partners took ownership of the Point Pleasant home with its 14 residents.  Operating as Cambridge Point Pleasant, the new owners renovated the beautiful Point Pleasant property to accommodate new technologies and additional residents.  Eventually the organization grew to a capacity of 171 children being cared for in Lancaster, Pittsburgh (Hopewell), Doylestown, and Quakertown, in addition to Point Pleasant.

As the organization began looking to the future, they merged with Post Acute Partners and have become Pediatric Specialty Care.  Post Acute Partners aims to provide the highest level of quality care throughout the post acute continuum – from pediatrics to seniors, from assisted living to skilled nursing and long term care.  Pediatric Specialty Care continues as a premier provider of outstanding care for technology dependent and medically fragile children and young adults.
