Spotlight on Staff – Pediatric Pulmonologist

img_3250-1At PSC, we care for children from birth to 21 years old, and have a trained team of experts in the field of pediatric breathing and lung diseases.  A pediatric pulmonologist has had a minimum of 4 years of medical school, three years of pediatric residency training, minimum of 3 years of fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology, and a certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in both pediatrics and the subspecialty of pediatric pulmonology

Pulmonology conditions in children may include:

  • Recurring pneumonia (infection of the lungs)
  • Asthma (chronic inflammation of the airways)
  • Cystic fibrosis (a genetic disease with pulmonary and nutritional symptoms)
  • Chronic cough and/or difficulty breathing
  • Apnea (breathing stops for a prolonged time)
  • Premature infants with developing lung issues
